What are Greeks dancing when gathering and celebrating?

?In these workshops, we are going to dance, explore, and celebrate with our bodies the greek way of expressing our feelings, creating connections with each other, and taste greek flavors through practising on typical and traditional greek dances!! Cycling shapes, duets, triples, and all the forms that Greeks, from ancient times till now, used to express their gratitude to nature and life!!?

We will explore the rhythm, movement vocabulary and patterns of traditional dances, so that we can recognise them and dance them in any setting. Through this process, we will cultivate our creative expression, deepen our relationship with our body and ourselves, and build meaningful group connection.

Aris Plios is an actor, dancer and experiential learning facilitator with long-term engagement in traditional Greek dance and embodied practices. He has studied theatre and applied dance arts and has trained in physical methodologies that connect rhythm, movement and collective expression. In recent years, he has been leading traditional Greek dance workshops in Greece and abroad, focusing not only on steps but on the deeper understanding of rhythm, movement vocabulary and dance patterns.
The approach in the workshop is experiential: dance as a way of connection, expression and group building. Through the circle, the pulse and the breath, participants discover Greek dance as a living practice — not as representation, but as experience.

Θα εξερευνήσουμε τον ρυθμό, την κινησιολογία και τα μοτίβα των παραδοσιακών χορών, ώστε να μπορούμε να τα αναγνωρίζουμε και να τα χορεύουμε σε κάθε περίσταση. Μέσα από αυτή τη διαδικασία θα καλλιεργήσουμε τη δημιουργική μας έκφραση, θα εμβαθύνουμε στη σχέση μας με το σώμα και τον εαυτό μας χτίζοντας παράλληλα επικοινωνία συνεργατικότητα με τα μέλη της ομάδας.

Ο Άρης Πλιός ασχολείται με το Θέατρο ως ηθοποιός και δραματουργός, και είναι εκπαιδευτής βιωματικής μάθησης με πολυετή ενασχόληση με τον παραδοσιακό ελληνικό χορό και τη σωματική έκφραση.

Έχει σπουδάσει εκπαίδευση ενηλίκων, θέατρο και εφαρμοσμένες τέχνες χορού και έχει εκπαιδευτεί σε σωματικές πρακτικές που συνδέουν ρυθμό, κίνηση και συλλογικότητα. Συντονίζει εργαστήρια παραδοσιακών χορών στην Ιταλία, εστιάζοντας όχι μόνο στα βήματα, αλλά στη βαθύτερη κατανόηση του ρυθμού, της κινησιολογίας και των χορευτικών μοτίβων.

Η προσέγγισή στο εργαστήριο είναι βιωματική: ο χορός ως τρόπος σύνδεσης, έκφρασης και δημιουργίας ομάδας. Μέσα από τον κύκλο, τον παλμό και την αναπνοή, θα ανακαλύψουμε τον ελληνικό χορό ως ζωντανή πρακτική, ως εμπειρία πέρα από την μουσειακή του αναπαράσταση.
